Who I am

I’m William Maxwell. I work with people who are exploring property on the Costa del Sol and want to understand the context before taking things further.

I’ve spent the last seven years working in the real estate industry here, with extensive geographical knowledge from Nerja to Sotogrande. For the past four years, I’ve specialised in the new build and luxury segment of the market.

This site exists to explain how I work, how initial conversations usually unfold, and to set out written context around the Spanish property market that is often missing online. It’s an attempt to lift the veil on a market that can feel opaque and, at times, deliberately confusing to those encountering it from the outside.

I work exclusively within the framework of a local estate agency for property searches and transactions. This site is not a listings platform and does not display properties.

Who this site is for

This site is for people considering buying property on the Costa del Sol, whether they are at an early research stage or have already spent time searching and want a clearer perspective.

Some visitors are just starting out. Others arrive after frustration, mixed information, or uncertainty about how the process really works in practice. The common thread is a desire for clarity before deciding how to proceed.

The site is not intended for parallel or joint working alongside another appointed agent. The intention is to provide clarity and context, not to cut across or undermine the work of colleagues in the industry.

What you’ll find here

Over time, I’ll add written notes and articles covering how the process works in practice, common points of confusion, and observations drawn from day-to-day involvement in the market. These are intended to provide orientation and context, rather than to replace direct conversations.

Most initial contact is simply a conversation. The aim is to establish whether there is a good fit, clarify expectations, and decide what the next step should be.
